About the Author
J.F. Lewis is the author of The Grudgebearer Trilogy and The Void City series. Jeremy is an internationally published author whose books have been translated into many languages. He doesn't eat people, but some of his characters do. After dark, he can usually be found typing into the wee hours of the morning while his wife, sons, and dog sleep soundly.

Outstanding Sci Fi. Waiting already for the next.

I didn't know what to expect when I bought this book. I KNOW Jeremy Lewis as a writer of fantasy/urban stuff (which I love. I've re-read his Void City series several times.) But this was clearly a different genre, and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get into it. Surprise, surprise, this guy could probably write any genre, and still be guilty of making me want his worlds to become my reality. Grudgebearer is decidedly Sci-fi; but, his secret is characters that are alive. HOW he can make reptlians likeable, their speech natural, I don't know. But I was only into the second chapter when I realized this book, and I'm assuming, this trilogy, is again, a world that is right next to reality, close enough to visit. Class warfare, species warfare... All the time I was reading it, I could see how he drew from the strange world we currently call home, the issues of the day not really too far out there. And can he write dialogue! These words come as naturally as if I was just listening in on a private conversation. I'd like to be a fly on the wall in this world, because there are secret depths to characters that I suspect I'll be seeing in future parts of the trilogy. I simply refuse to give too much away, because there are twists and challenges all over the place. Just a warning: Don't always trust the ones you think deserve your trust. And be aware of those who seem to be almost lesser characters. EVERYBODY is important in this book, and you have my OATH on that!

Fast New Favorite

This book has become one of my favorites and I completed it over 2 nights (reading well into the AM!) Though there are some nitpicks about terminology and forced visualization, the world offers a detailed environment for the characters to react to. I personally would love to see this book visualized into a movie or series, especially with how some of the characters (Vander) are present as voiceovers. I've already suggested it to several friends.
